Desdemona has been genetically tested at Neogen Laboratories and confirmed as Classic Grey, her fleece is grey although her phenotype does not display enough white fibre on the neck to be shown in the classic grey class, she has had a hugely successful show career and has won multiple Modern Grey Championships.

As her genotype is classic grey, she will produce classic grey or solid Cria.

Desdemona stands on an incredibly strong frame with a fine and lustrous fleece. Desdemona's Dam is from Thistledown Alpacas in New Zealand where Molly's animals are well recognised for their consistency of micron and this trait has been passed along into Desdemona and is often commented on by UK judges.

Winsaula Alpacas were awarded 2025 Best Alpaca Breeder in the medium size farm category at the British Alpaca Society National Show. We have bred multiple Supreme Champions and Judges Choice awards.
